The race for sheriff of Richland Parish will not be decided until the November 21 general election when incumbent Sheriff Lee Harrell faces challenger Gary Gilley in a runoff.
With 25 of 25 precincts reporting, Gilley received 3,218 votes for 43%; while Harrell polled 35% with 2605 votes. Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson, Sr. received 1583 votes for 21%
