Richland Parish Superintendent of Schools Sheldon Jones said the Richland Parish School Board is excited to begin the 2015-2016 school year.
“Over the summer, teachers and administrators participated in professional development to target improving student achievement,” Jones said. “Classroom instruction in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies will align to Louisiana State Standards. I strongly encourage parents to attend Back-To-School Parent Teacher Conference Nights.”
Jones also said he wished to thank local churches and community leaders throughout the parish for sponsoring Back-To-School events.
“We are extremely appreciative of the support from our greater school community,” he said.
The first day for students is Aug. 13.
Jones also reminds parents that Richland Parish schoolswill host Back-To-School Parent Teacher Conference Nights on the following dates during the coming week:
• Start Elementary, 5:30 p.m. Aug. 25;
• Holly Ridge Elementary, 6 p.m. Aug. 18;
• Mangham Elementary, 6 p.m. Aug. 20;
• Mangham Junior High, 6 p.m. Aug. 17;
• Mangham Elementary, 6 p.m. Aug. 18;
• Rayville Elementary, 5 p.m. Aug. 18;
• Rayville Junior High School, 6 p.m. Aug. 13;
• Delhi Elementary, 6 p.m. Aug. 18;
• Delhi Middle School, 5:30 p.m. Aug. 17; and
• Delhi High School, 6 p.m. Aug. 20.
