Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson would like to strongly encourage parents to take a greater interest in the social activities of their children.
“Make sure you are aware of who your children are socializing with,” he said. “And make sure there is another adult who can monitor their activities if you are are at work or unavailable when your children are home from school.”
The chief advised juveniles need to be monitored and given guidance about the choices they are making that can have a far-reaching impact on their lives.
“Talk to your children about choosing friends wisely and about the importance of getting a good education and staying out of trouble,” he said. “If they get involved in criminal activities at a young age, life will be more difficult for them when they are of age and on their own.”
Chief Robinson would also like to advise citizens to follow all traffic laws, observe posted speed limits and make sure your driver’s license, motor vehicle inspection, vehicle registration and auto insurance are current.
“Failure to keep all your necessary documents can result in large fines,” he said.
Chief Robinson encourages all citizens to come by the Rayville Police Department at 900 Harrison St. or to call 728-4431 if you need his help in any way.
