Rhymes Memorial Library will host its Third Annual Gospel Singing Jubilee at 6 p.m. Oct. 15 at Richland Art Center.
Come join in an evening of blessings through music provided by the Jericho Project, Southern Grace, Sanctuary Quartet and Southern Revelation.
Two of the four groups giving of their time and talent to our program were outlined in last week’s edition.
Another group, the Sanctuary Quartet, is from Delhi and will celebrate their 11th year in December. Troy Richards, the lead singer and group spokesman, brings to the group smooth vocals and a deep love for the Lord. Baritone Jimmy Strong has had his long-time dream of singing praises to God in a group granted through this quartet. Ricky Singley was a good addition to the group with his natural deep base tone that accents the other parts as well. Rayland Trisler, who sings tenor vocals so well, has a deep passion for worshiping the Lord through music.
And the last group, Southern Revelation, has Richie Kelly singing lead and playing piano, Mark Goodman singing tenor, Tommy Nelson singing baritone and playing bass, and Keith Lee singing the bass part. Strong traditional southern gospel roots are evident in every note they sing.
They bring a fresh touch to the old classic hymns, while sprinkling in enough new stuff to show they haven’t lost touch with today’s gospel music.
Tickets are $10 per person and are available at Rayville banks, Rhymes Memorial Library and at the door.
Call the library at 728-4128 from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday for tickets or questions.
