Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson advised aU citizens of Rayville that resisting or striking a law enforcement agent while he or she is in the process of interviewing or arresting you will not be tolerated.
“Failure to cooperate with an officer can cause charges such as resisting arrest, resisting arrest by flight, resisting arrest by giving false information, or other such criminal charges,” the chief said. “If you
actually push or strike an Officer, you will be arrested and charged with battery of a police officer.”
Chief Robinson advised that interfering with an officer of any law
enforcement agency while he of she is performing their duties is a serious offense and every such offense will result in the arrest of the offending party.
“I have a zero tolerance policy for this type of behavior,” the chief said. “The safety of the officers on the street is one of my primary concerns.”
Chief Robinson encourages all citizens to come by the Rayville Police Department at 900 Harrison St. or to call 728-4431 if you need his help in any way.
