Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson would like to remind all motorists of the importance of obeying all posted speed limit signs and signals.
“It’s especially important to observe speed limits and exercise caution in school zones and residential neighborhoods where children may be playing near roadways,” the chief said.
Chief Robinson would also like to remind motorists to keep their driver’s license, vehicle registration, inspection sticker and insurance up to date and to carry the proper documentation in their vehicles at all times. In the event that you are pulled over by an officer, failure to produce a valid driver’s license, vehicle registration or proof of insurance will result in traffic citations and fines and in some cases may even result in criminal charges and arrests.
Robinson would also like to advise all citizens of Rayville that fighting and other forms of violent behavior is not welcome here and will not be tolerated.
“If you are involved in a fight or in any type of physical altercation with another person, you will be arrested even if you have left the scene by the time my officers arrive,” he said. “If you find yourself in an altercation that could escalate into violence, walk away.”
Chief Robinson also encourages all citizens to call for assistance from his officers if they feel a situation is getting out of hand.
Chief Robinson encourages all citizens to come by the Rayville Police Department at 900 Harrison St. or to call 728-4431 if you need his help in any way.
