Dream catcher crafting workshop set

Poverty Point World Heritage Site will hold a dream catcher workshop for beginners that will include Native American story telling.

 The workshop will be held 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 27. Dream Catcher supplies will be provided.  Participants will learn how to make basic dream catchers and will be able to take the one they create home with them.  Participants should check in at the museum first and then go to the Archeology Lab for the workshop.

 Poverty Point World Heritage Site offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience and learn about the monumental earthworks and the individuals who built them from the ground between the years of 1600 and 1100 BCE. 

The $4 admission fee provides access to the museum, film theatre, hiking trail, driving tour, tram tour, and all interpretive events taking place at the park.

 Children (12 and under) and senior citizens (62 and over) are admitted free of charge. 

Poverty Point is located in West Carroll Parish, east of Monroe on LA 577. The park is open daily from
