Region 8 Council on Aging Directors purchased a table at the Monroe Chamber of Commerce Luncheon.
Senators and representatives from across Northeast and central Louisiana were in attendance. Each made comments and were thanked for their service. Several mentioned the seniors of the state and how it was their intention to support them.
Rep. Katrina Jackson went to the podium and she first recognized her law partner and her office staff for their work in allowing here to stay in Baton Rouge for five months.
She then asked the COA directors to stand and thanked them for their work with the seniors of the area and advocating for the seniors of the state. She mentioned that the state’s seniors were in good hands with the directors advocating for them.
She also mentioned that throughout the session that directors were there and in contact with her on all issues pertaining to the senior population of the state and there was no other group as effective in promoting the needs of the group they represent. She even mentioned that she had received more emails and texts from the COA than any other group.
