Steve D. Craig has announced that he will seek election this fall to the Richland Parish Police Jury. Craig is seeking the District 1 seat, a position in which he served several years ago.
Craig is a 1976 graduate of Delhi High School. He attended Louisiana Tech and The University of Louisiana at Monroe before accepting a job with Sun Oil Company as an Engineering Technician. He worked with Sun Oil for 21 years and has been employed by Kinder Morgan in that same capacity for the past 14 years.
“I have always had an interest in serving on the Policy Jury due to the important work that this public body does for the people of our parish” Craig stated. “I and my family have lived in Delhi for the past 50 plus years, and I have had the opportunity to learn the needs of this area first hand. I truly believe that improvements to our roads, bridges and drainage can and should be made in such ways that are both effective and fiscally responsible. My pledge to the voters of District 1 is that 1 will work with the other members of the Policy Jury to insure that the needs of our district are addressed in a timely manner. I am not running for any other reason than to serve in a fiscally responsible manner. 1 will make every effort to visit with each and every voter and to personally request each person’s vote.”
Craig is married to the former Rhonda Copes and has two children and two grandchildren.
