Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson would like to remind all citizens of Rayville of the importance of resolving the consequences of traffic citations and/or arrests.

“When you are arrested or are issued a traffic citation, there is generally a fine amount associated with each charge you receive,” the chief said. “If those fines are not resolved within the amount of time decreed by the judge, there are other consequences that may accrue.”

Chief Robinson advised that when traffic citations are not satisfactorily resolved, information concerning those charges may be turned over to Department of Public Safety and could impact your driving privileges.

“If that occurs, you may then be in danger of being charged with driving under suspension,” said the chief.

Chief Robinson would also like to remind all citizens of the importance of cooperating with law enforcement officers in the event of a traffic stop or an arrest.

“If you disobey, actively resist, or give false information to the officer, those actions could result in criminal charges, fines, and possibly even incarceration,” the chief said.

Chief Robinson stated that encounters with law enforcement officers will go quickly and smoothly if you cooperate with them while they are questioning you.

Chief Robinson encourages all citizens to come by the Rayville Police Department at 900 Harrison St. or to call 728-4431 if you need his help in any way.
